gadgets and apps
So many cool things for the older generation...not that I am that old yet....but can they please get names that don't make the older peeps feel so old lol...There is a new tablet called grandpad and an app called Park and forget...seriously...can't find better names. I guess the older you get the simpler the names have to be...maybe that is it.

Bedding
I bought some nice white bedding from Pottery Barn and wanted a king sized diamond pattern quilt for the end but the one from them would of been $299.on sale so today when I stopped in Marshalls I came across one for 20 bucks. Woohoo. I think It was just the touch I needed for the end of the bed.

Accidental Heroes: A Novel
I am halfway through this Danielle Steel book and really enjoying it. I enjoy most of her books and this one is no different. I have been blessed here with warm weather and sunshine so a bit of outdoor reading has been great. I also have a new bed with Pottery Barn bedding...so comfy...so reading in there at night has been awesome too. Both moments give me a bit of time to at least read a few more pages. I did just finish The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah which I also enjoyed. If you want a great read with a story based in Alaska and Seattle this is for you.
Oh my facebook
I just deactivated my facebook for many reasons. My hubby is overseas and I just heard confirmation on a news of what he told me. Private messenger was compromised also and peoples messages were being looked at. Not great. Total violation of privacy. If you are on there be careful.
Book Box
Does anyone have a book subscription box they love? I got a gift of The Nocturnal Readers Box and liked it but I do not read a lot of horror. I have a 3 months subscription to Once Upon a Book Club that gives cute little gifts and some pretty good book picks. I was just wondering if anyone else out there belonged to any others.

Tomatoes
I went to Whole Foods this past Saturday and found the cutest little tomato plant you grow in a jar. Apparently you only have to water it once a week and soon enough you will have a bunch of cherry tomatoes to enjoy this summer. Fingers crossed.

Happy Easter
I hope all my friends and family had a wonderful day. It was quiet here just Darrian and I as dad is a contractor in Afghanistan. 75 more days and he will be home. He retired in November after 23 years in the Army. We are still in El Paso for Darrian's freshman year. He loves his school. Still undecided on our final destination. I am missing the grandkids in Oregon so maybe a move to WA eventually. I am reading Accidental Heroes by Danielle Steel. I like it so far but am only 2 chapters in. I did love Kristin Hannah's The Great Alone which I just finished. I really liked her beautiful description of life in Alaska. What is everyone reading? I hope something good.

GO HAWKS
Hi to all my blog friends. I have not posted in awhile but hope you are all doing well. I am going to watch the super bowl today here with my boys in El Paso. I am a huge Hawks fan. Dallas Cowboys are my first love but I have spent the last 3 years in WA so I am giving my love to the Hawks today. I am making this dip. My hubby is deployed to Cuba at GTMO so he will be watching the second half of the game and rooting for the Hawks. Anyway I hope everyone enjoys the day today....GO HAWKS

El Paso
Well the Army is sending us to El Paso in 4 months unless the orders go South for some reason which isn't all that unusual in the military. I loved living in OK and TX area years ago but have never been to El Paso. I am a Cowboys fan so at least I will be in the Lone Star state. Of course the hubby loves Steelers....OH well he will have to get used to all the Cowboys bling and all that. Pray for us on our new journey. Thanks my friends.

I love Indulgy.com.
It has a better feel and look to me then pinterest. I have deleted pinterest due to copyrighting issues and I now stick with indulgy.com. It's my fav. If you get the chance check it out. I think you will like it....but it is addictive like the other sites so watch out.

Again....long time no blog.....
We are most likely a year and a half from Army retirement. We hope to know more in a few months. Because my son Darrian who is 9 has cold urticaria (allergy to the cold) he needs to be in a warm environment. We could go back to Hawaii which was our home for 9 years, although very expensive, survivable. Or we can pick a new place to live that has a warm environment for Darrian. We sort of narrowed it down to Florida, Louisiana, Texas or Hawaii. How to choose I do not know but I am asking for any prayers out there so we can make the right decision. Do we settle before Dominic retires or wait until after? He has a job in Hawaii that he used to do part time and could possibly do again, but that is about it. We have lived many places but never took the time to really think about settling down for good. Any suggestions???? We will take all the input we can get.

Yummy, Healthy lunch!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!
Made these for lunch the other day from a recipe I got off my Whole Foods website. They were so good, kind of tasted like eating a healthy candy bar, so I might of loaded up on the chocolate chips a bit much but even the kids loved these. I got the recipe here: Apple Sandwich

I found a new eye cream and soap. Both are amazing. I had to share. Also the products are organic and added plus. Here is the page for both products. I found these products through this new blog I discovered. I'm having a good time looking over all the past posts. Maybe some of you would enjoy this blog too. Other then that not too much going on. Kids are going back to school in Sept. and we are still here in Washington state. There is a possibility of us being stationed at Ft. Polk Louisiana by December, but as usual with the Army we have not gotten any permanent orders yet. We will have to wait and see what the future holds.

Crock Pot Girl
I just ordered this crock pot from Amazon on the a recommendation I got from my new slow cooker cook book called "Slow Cooker Revolution." I was looking for a crock pot that did not boil the food while cooking on high and this seems to be the one. Of course I will give it a good test once I get it and let you all know. In the meantime, while browsing the reviews for this pot, I came across a reviewer who said the facebook page "Crock Pot Girl" was a really neat page. I went over there and WOW, it has a lot of information and recipes. There is also a web site called "Get Crocked" at "www.GetCrocked.com." If you are interested go check it out. The crock pot is perfect for summer cooking, especially when you do not want to heat up your kitchen or when a trip to the pool on a summer day is going to make it hard for you to come home and cook dinner on time.
