New housing

This is where I used to live until the military moved us and decided to knock it down and build new housing. As you can see the completion of phase 1 (knocking down the old stuff), is just about complete.

3D

Last night the boys got "Spy Kids 3," from the library. They enjoyed using the 3D glasses. You gotta love the Public Library especially for the summer. We rarely rent DVD's, but when summer comes and we want one, the Public library has them for free. Last week I watched "Jarhead," which I thought was horrible and was glad I didn't pay a fee for. Last night I watched "Crash," which I really liked. It was a hard movie to watch because it brings the subject of racism to the front of the line. I think it also shows people how racism is still a problem and it runs much deeper than anyone wants to admit. Once again I watched this for free thanks to the Public library. So many people spend a fortune in the summer and I can't really figure out why. There are so many frugal activies out there. Going to the pool, beach or lake, getting free books, CD's and DVD's from the library (Ok some librarys charge a fee like $1. but this is a lot less expensive than the video store and it goes to a good cause, supporting the library), having a picnic in the park, sightseeing, and many other activities. I can't imagine why people want to pay for stuff when all the best things in life are free. Last night me and the kids just sat and read a ton of library books before they watched their movie. Once again "free".

Summer reading

I just finished this book "Sams Letters to Jennifer," It was very good but nowhere near as shocking or heartbreaking as "Suzannes Diary to Nicholas." I am also going to read "Lake House" by James Patterson. Has anyone read this? Was it any good? 

Halloween?

I guess Darrian thinks it is Halloween. He is dressing up in spyro wings an a bike helmet. Costumes cost a fortune so this is a pretty frugal way of celebrating.

yes chef part 2

I watched the 2 hour show today and I think it might even be better than last year. Maybe a little more brutal also. I think chef Ramsey is so funny. I guess he isn't funny when he is yelling at you, but all in all he makes for great reality tv. I really liked the girl who burnt her fingers and I think she probably can find her way around a kitchen easily. I was sad that Larry had to go though. I think he would of improved over time, but this environment just might have been too stressful. I guess we will see in coming episodes who can hold their own.

The Omen

Ok I'll admit it, I still love horror. I always have. This weekend (or on my husbands next day off) I plan on seeing The Omen. Of course being that I have a Damian (and sometimes he acts like a devil child) I will probably get a little freaked out, but we all know my Damian is actually an angel. I will let you all know how I liked this. Maybe I can get my dad to see it and review it. I will check if he still has his blog and publish the link later. That is if I can remember how the hell I add the links once again.

Anyone out there watch "Hell's Kitchen" last night? I had to tape it due to the fact I was at the doctors but I will watch it today and let you all know what I think. Last year I really enjoyed this so I expect to this time around.
Big Brother also starts soon and I am looking forward to this. I will have many more comments on the shows due to my reality show addiction.

Helmet-Einstein

I'm sure all you Steelers fans out there have already heard about Ben Roethlisberger's motorcycle accident. I wish him a full recovery. Many people have spoken out before and after this accident about Ben's not wearing a helmet. I wonder why no one mentioned to him that he is a role model to many children and teenager's and with that comes the responsibility of doing the right thing even though you don't like to. Most kids say it's too sweaty to wear a helmet, or to heavy or any other excuse. They of course have to wear it anyway. This fact could be reinforced by the people who are public figures and the choices they make. Maybe someone should remind Ben it is no longer all about him.

Here we go again

Once again yesterday I was dumping some water in the toilet while twisting the opposite way to turn on the hot bath water to wash the bucket. What do you think happened next? I pulled the same muscle I keep pulling in my back. It was back to the hospital at 6:15 for more medicine. Maybe soon I will learn my lesson and do my housework one step at a time instead of trying to do two things at once. Hindsight is foresight.

Prayer

Today was another great day at church. The youth is doing well in the Christian band and the music service is awesome. Vanessa and her friend Jennifer went this morning and are back tonight for our churches prayer session which will last about 2 hours. They have never been to one so I know they will like it. All praying about families. Politics, personal, etc. My husband (who was raised Catholic) is really enjoying this because he never really learned anything from the bible when he was going to church and can't believe how he is getting so much out of it. He says he doesn't find it boring like the services he used to attend. Anyway it helps that we have a great Pastor. Pastor Ko from First Assembly of God Moanalau.

All That Blog
A few days ago my neighbors 2 kid's gave Damian a skateboard. He started going to the skateboard park and really likes it. Some of the older kids who are real good took a liking to him and have been teaching him and in 3 days he went from rolling down our parking lot to going down the biggest ramps on his board. The older kids think he is amazing for only 7 and because he only just started. My husband just called me from the park (it is the new one on our post) and said he is doing all sorts of tricks that the high school kids are teaching him. Tomorrow I am going to have to go down there and gets some pictures. He has been skating after church for about 5 hours today.

On June 8, 2006 Brandon graduated from Aliamanu Middle School. He was an honor roll student all the way through and is off to Radford where his sister will be in 11th grade.

All That Blog
On top of all the kids keeping us busy I was ice skating Sunday with my instructor, who took time forme for free to help me, and I seemed to have hurt my back again. I had originally hurt it 3 weeks ago and could barely walk. On Thursday I was back at my lesson and could feel the muscle tugging a little but didn't think much of it. On Sunday I was practicing some crossovers and I really felt it a lot more. Anyway by yesterday I was having trouble turning my head to back my car out of it's space again. ThenI knew something was up. I called my family practice and wanted to see my particular doctor so I could only get an appointment for 5:50 tonight, which of course sucks because I was up late last night doing laundry after running around all day, and then I had to get up early to help my son with a 20 page essay his teacher actually gave the class on Friday. I suppose this has something to do with graduation but who knows. I was out this morning and thank God I am here now for lunch,(2:32pm) but I had to feed my 3 year old before running back out to my sons school. My husband is going to take me to the doctors as soon as we are all in at 4pm. Of course he wants to take me because he is worried about me driving without turning my head. I am turning my head but it not to easy. I hope I can get something to relieve this because I have a ton of things to do tomorrow. I have to get my 3 year old to two appointments because he will miss the deadline for turn in to attend Head Start, and then go to fax all this paperwork out. My husband has to run up to work so he cannot do all this, and of course I found out I am supposed to be at a family support group meeting tomorrow night that I completely forgot about. Of course this is at 5:30pm, up in Hellamano and I will have to leave in traffic to get there. Wish me luck. Life with 5 kids still at home just keeps getting busier all the time.

Radford graduation

Here is Vanessa playing her flute at the Radford High School graduation. Well she is not actually playing, but waiting to play. I tried to take a video clip but some how messed it up and then only got a few pictures of the graduation because my memory also got screwed up. Anyway all fixed now. Vanessa is third row back from front, and I think the 5th one in from the left of this picture. She is wearing a black dress that has spaghetti straps. 

Summer

Summer Vacation is almost here. The kids have a half day on Monday and that's it, now I have to plan a whole summer worth of stuff to do. There Is quite a lot since we live in Hawaii. The Ocean, The pool, The park, The zoo, etc. Tonight is the Radford high school graduation where my daughter will be playing her flute with the band. Not her new flute since the once we ordered came last night but it was the wrong one. The old flute will have to do until they process the order for the second new one. Anyway I hope to have pictures up of the band playing. It is a beautiful night. The last event we went to for the band was when my inlaws were here in March. They had such an awesome time they wish they could see this tonight, but unfortunately they live in Chicago so that would be quite a trip. We will be there to support her so she will be very happy.
