TGIF

This is Damian making Jesus on the cross out of play dough. I don't know where he saw this, but this is what he made.

Today is Friday, in our house otherwise known as pizza Friday. Most of the time I make homemade pizza , but when I'm lazy I go to Sam's Club and buy one. I also buy the veggie tray to put out and chips. This is an easy meal and the kids love it. Today is also ice cream Friday. We have a real nice ice cream man named Joe and on Friday he sells all ice cream for $1.00. If we are really lucky post housing buys it and we get free ice cream. The kids love ice cream Friday too. It seems a little weird that on the mainland it is winter and here it is ice cream weather. In fact Joe comes every week all year. I guess there is no rest if you are the ice cream man in Hawaii. Today I'm feeling a little lazy so I will probably take a trip to Sam's.

update on mom. She does have MDS and will start some sort of treatment in a few weeks. She will have to miss her yearly trip to Hawaii in May, but next year she can come if all goes well.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

My Savior My God By Aaron Shust

My mom is going to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center tomorrow to find out if she indeed does have MDS and what type of treatment she needs. This is the place she was treated for breast cancer 14 years ago. This is the place that made her survival likely. This is the place that will try to cure her again. This place where my Savior will be tomorrow. This and many other places where people need Him to be. This song I dedicate to My Savior and to my mom. He will be there today, tomorrow and forever. No matter where we are led He will be there no matter what until we see Him face to face and Grace Amazing takes us home.

Bali

My daughter Vanessa went with Surfin the Nations (a non-profit organization) that feeds the hungry and spreads Christianity, to Bali last July. This year she is going again to Bali and before this in mid June to East Timor. What happens is the East Timor mission which is out of our church and HPU sends about 12 young adults to East Timor in mid June and then they meet with the Surfin the Nations Bali missionaries on July 2nd. They fly from one mission to the other. This year she was asked to go to East Timor and then travel on to Bali. She has decided to do this. I believe there is no greater work then feeding the hungry and spreading the word. I am glad she is willing to go again I will keep everyone posted on the upcoming trip. Here is a clip from last years trip. Just hit the link and play the video on the right that says"Bali Surf trip 2007."

Movies...what a novel idea

This is what you buy when you haven't been to the movies in over a year and want to recreate the movie theater experience.

and this

Here is where you watch movies like Wild Hogs 25 times or more.

and then this

and last but not least this

This is the arcade part of the movie theater. Do movie theater's still have arcades? This room also becomes a sports bar on NFL Sunday in the winter. Home of the Dallas Cowboys. As my neighbor will tell you you can't come to my sports bar unless you root for the Cowboys. This is very authentic when you add my bunch of screaming kids.

great question

I really liked that this post asked a great question that gave some incite on why Christians vote the way we do. I know a lot of people don't understand this, but this post sums it up. I may have to go with Christ on this and not vote. Like it has been said it's better to explain to Jesus why I didn't vote than to explain why I voted for one or the other when neither was in line with God's convictions.

After reading this I know who it won't be.

Casting Crowns - Praise You In This Storm

My mom is home from the hospital and doing well so as usual Casting Crowns has it right. I will praise you in this storm.

My new best friend...Roomba

I'll have to admit this must be part of my ADHD. Especially the obsessive compulsive part. I have a compulsion to vacuum. I have a rainbow which I run every day, and a dirt devil mini vac, and an Oreck vacuum and a vacuum by Bissell. I also have a Oreck tower air purifier, but that's another story. I bought this and as soon as I used it I fell in love. I am kind of a neat freak so this thing is just too much, even for me. I was a little freaked out when I came home from dropping the kids off at school and realized I didn't have to vacuum because It had been done for me. And I was a little freaked out when this thing met me at the door, but other than that, all I can say is it's awesome. My 4 year old stayed on the couch the whole time it ran last night because the thing seems to sence people and tries to follow you wherever you go. Einstein, who is very smart, but doesn't have a lot of sence made only one comment "Does it actually pick up stuff?" "I assume that is why it is called a vacuum." Einstein is my husband, at least that is what I call him on a daily basis. I read once that Einstein didn't have much commen sence so I guess it fits. So that is the story of my new best friend.

Casting Crowns - Voice of Truth

Please pray for my mom who is in the hospital with some sort of infection they don't know what it is. This is one of my favorite songs that I play all the time. My kids hear this daily before school and it calms everyone. To me it is just plain truth.

Happy Valentine's Day....Late

I didn't get a chance to get on the computer yesterday so today I am posting the pictures from Valentine's Day. The top one is of Darrian in his Valentine costume he made at school. The second one is the vase and flowers he made at school. The third pic are the flowers Dominic bought me. He left them by the coffee pot so I got them in the morning. The last one is a little box Darrian made at school for me that was filled with candy.

I gave Darrian a heart shaped lollypop that morning and when he went to school the teacher asked him where he got the lollypop from and he said "Miley Cyrus." I didn't know Hannah Montana lived here.

Did you know...

About 8 months ago my neighbor came over to tell me that they now have valet parking at Tripler Army hospital. My husband was eating dinner and thought that was pretty cool. Over the next few months I mentioned valet parking at Tripler quite often. Like can I have $3.00 for valet parking? Or I hope valet parking isn't full today. Or how about If you get to the hospital after 9 am you need to use valet parking. So the other day my hubby went up to Tripler. He never goes up to Tripler since he works in Schofield and uses the clinic up there. What do you think he says to me when he gets home? "Did you know there's valet parking at Tripler now?" "No do you think?"

Gung hay fat choy

Yesterday the kids celebrated the Chinese New Year at school where my son Jr. informed them that he doesn't celebrate it because he is a Christian. I told him you are allowed to celebrate the Chinese New Year you just don't really believe in the year of the Lion and all that stuff. Especially how it pertains to the future. Anyway Darrian has an extremely creative preschool teacher who helped them make the dragon and the hat. He is very lucky. Like I could actually make this hat! Anyway he came off his bus with the hat on yelling happy new year in Chinese, see above title, and then informed me he had seen fire dancers but no real fire. I guess it's a safety issue. So have a great day and Gung hay fat choy!

Happy Birthday...would you like a new rib?

My birthday is tomorrow. Does turning 43 make you a klutz. Well I guess I can't really count this accident as being a klutz (like the ice skating disaster), but it's still kind of lame. I leaned on to a towel holder last night to grab my towel and it broke off the wall and I landed on my boob, kind of between my boob and arm pit. Luckily I had a doctor appointment today so he also checked out my rib. He said it might be broke and wanted to send me to x-ray. I told him I couldn't go down to X-ray because I had to get home to watch The View because I forgot to TIVO it. So he loaded me up with Motrim and said to come back in on Monday to X-ray if it didn't get better. So Happy Birthday to me and can someone send me a new rib?

NJROTC

Brandon walking away after receiving his award for 3.7 average. I wasn't able to get more pictures because I was sitting in the back and didn't realize when he was called since his colonel goes about 90 miles an hour. Kind of like role call instead of presenting awards. He has 90 cadets so he tries to get through it as timely as possible. All in all the ceremony is nice anyway. Only lasting about an hour. There is one every quarter of the school year.

gadgets and apps

So many cool things for the older generation...not that I am that old yet....but can they please get names that don't make the older pee...
