I feel the Earth move

Last night, while watching tv with my kids, the house started to sway a little and then the windows started to rattle. Immediately I new it was an earthquake because I had been in a good sized quake in the state of Washington and I will tell you it has a very distinct feeling. You can read about ours last night here. At least this time I actually knew what was happening. When I first experienced the quake in Wa. I had no idea what was going on. I always heard it felt like a violent shaking. It doesn't. It feels like a swaying action, even when it hits past 6.0. I actually thought my neighbor, who was a looney, was jackhammering in his bathtub upstairs. He was known for doing wacko renovations to his apartment. I grabbed my two boys and headed out the back door, but when I looked up I noticed the trees were swaying. That's when it hit me, earthquake. By the time I realized it, it was almost over. I didn't recognize it as an earthquake because like I said, it didn't feel at all like what I had heard it was supposed to feel like. Last night however, I remembered that exact feeling, and that was what I was feeling at that exact moment. Thank God it was mild and only lasted about 15 seconds. It's just weird to feel your house moving while your in it.

I am glad there was no damage, and you all are ok...My son Kevin was born October 17,1989 during the earthquake in San Franciso...I remember sitting in the hospital bed and it just swaying...

I'm so glad you all are ok. Earthquakes can be so scary, I've been through some real minor ones but it still gives you a chill.

Yikes that is scary. I've never experienced an earthquake and I hope I never do. Yes and thank god it was a mild one.

Wow. A lot's happened since I was here two days ago. This would have scared me to death. I'm amazed you stayed calm. I would have panicked.
